The government is encouraged to pursue effective tobacco-control measures.

On the occasion of international No Tobacco Day, children and teachers urged the government to enact effective tobacco-control measures.

On the occasion of “World No Tobacco Day,” students referred to tobacco products as “poison” and urged the government to protect us from the detrimental consequences of tobacco products.

They stated that this is not our priority and that we must study in order to give Pakistan a good future. Tobacco usage is the first step toward addiction; we are on the correct track, but our classmates, owing to a lack of understanding, begin using tobacco products and drift away from education.

Sanaullah Ghumman about Smoking and Tobacco

Sanaullah Ghumman, General Secretary and Director of Operations of the Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH), also took part in the walk.

According to Sanaullah Ghumman, PANAH has been teaching the public about dangerous diseases such as heart disease and its causes. On World No Tobacco Day, I want to remind our youth that smoking is the first step toward addiction.
