For authenticating into an account on a new device, WhatsApp is adding a second one-time password (OTP)
The new dual verification code is designed to safeguard users from unintentionally compromising their accounts by sharing a WhatsApp OTP.
Before a user is allowed to log in to a WhatsApp account, WhatsApp will implement a feature that will give an extra layer of safety. Shortly, the feature will most likely be included in the instant messaging app’s beta versions for iOS and Android.
After reportedly testing a feature that allows users to undo message deletion, WhatsApp may soon ask for a supplementary verification code. This means that if you try to log in to WhatsApp on a new phone, you’ll need a second verification code in addition to the one you received by SMS.
The number is already in use for WhatsApp on another phone. To guarantee that your account is within your control, you must confirm another verification code. For further protection, you must wait for the countdown to finish before transmitting the code. Put the code in this box when you get it.
