WhatsApp beta users will soon be able to join groups with up to 512 members
Over the last several weeks, WhatsApp has added a lot of new features to the instant messaging network, but one feature that fans have been waiting for for a long time is finally available to WhatsApp beta users.
We’re talking about bigger WhatsApp Groups, which may now hold up to 512 people rather than the previous limit of 256.
WhatsApp said last month that the update would be coming soon to the program, and now WABetaInfo reports that Android and iOS WhatsApp Beta users are seeing the option to create bigger WhatsApp groups.
While the expanded capacity would be welcome news to many WhatsApp users in workplaces, colleges, and other vocations where groups of more than 256 individuals are required, WhatsApp still lags behind rival software Telegram, which allows groups of up to 2,00,000 people to be created in the the the a single group.
WhatsApp Beta version 188.8.131.52 for Android and version 184.108.40.206 for iOS will allow users to build bigger WhatsApp Groups. If you aren’t a part of the beta program, don’t worry: the functionality may soon be available in stable versions of WhatsApp as well.
During the beta test, WhatsApp will work to iron out any issues with larger groups, after which all WhatsApp users will be allowed to create and join larger WhatsApp Groups.
In other developments, WhatsApp is rumored to be getting a new ‘undo’ option for deleted messages that would allow users to undelete communications within seconds of them being erased.
For a limited time after hitting Send, the functionality will work similarly to how a little button on Gmail lets you retrieve back wrongly sent emails.
