Manpreet Singh, alias Bhau, of Mansa district’s Dhapai village, was arrested on Tuesday. He is accused of providing logistical support to the assassins, including organizing two cars used in the murder of Moose Wala. A Mansa court sentenced him to five days on police remand.

Bhau, who was apprehended in Dehradun on Monday afternoon in a combined operation by Punjab and Uttarakhand police, is accused of providing the assassins with the Bolero and Toyota Corolla cars.

A gang takes responsibility for the murder of Middukhera.

Following a few good leads, Mansa police arrested two criminals, Manpreet Singh Manna and Siraj Sandhu, from the Ferozepur Central Jail and Bathinda Central Jail.

Last year, Manna, a distant relative of Bhau, assassinated another criminal, Kulveer Singh Caruana, and his accomplice Chamkaur Singh. While Sandhu, a member of the Bishnoi gang, is suspected of murdering a Hindu leader in Amritsar, police sources say Manna communicated with Bishnoi from within Ferozepur Jail.

Following the murder, the group claimed responsibility, claiming it was an act of vengeance for the death of Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera in Mohali in August of last year.
