Rana Sanaullah stated that the cops deployed to prevent the PTI’s Azadi March from entering Islamabad were unarmed at a briefing before PM Shehbaz Sharif’s departure to Turkey on a three-day visit.

Members of the federal cabinet commended the people on their rejection of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s lengthy march toward Islamabad. During the conference, the role of the media was also commended.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the interior ministry and security institutions have been ordered to stay unarmed throughout the lengthy march. The federal cabinet members praised the role of security forces as well.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah warned on Tuesday that the ‘anti-state march’ would be dealt with harshly, and no one would be permitted to disrupt law and order, according to ARY News.

The cabinet also authorized the creation of a five-member committee to probe the purported ‘armed groups’ brought to Islamabad during the long march.

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah told the media following the federal cabinet meeting that the Long March on May 25 was an “effort to destroy the state.” He said that armed personnel was maintained at the KP residence using provincial sources.

He further stated that the federal cabinet has taken serious note of KP CM Mahmood Khan’s comments about utilizing KP forces against the central government.

The minister said that the previous prime minister exploited KP government funds to blockade Islamabad during his inaugural march.

According to Rana Sanaullah, authorization from the federal cabinet has been sought to book the components under the Criminal Act.
